In case you forgot, Modest Mouse is compiling their b-sides this summer for your listening enjoyment. The latest on the parade of rare tracks is "Autumn Beds". Simple, twangy and undeniably country, it's a great time for those who are fans of the band's less-crazed moments. Just like the last single, there's going to be a second song released with it, and this time, it's in the form of "Whale Song". Haven't heard the studio version yet- hopefully it's presented to us online soon. But if not, the "Autumn's Bed" 7" single is out on June 23rd, so you'll have your chance then. Check out the exclusive stream over at Stereogum.
Animal Noises is a blog about music, both old and new, and how it stands up in the current music scene. The staff-- John, the editor, with contributions from Matt-- uses their various music backgrounds to intelligently discuss artists and albums, focusing on the good, while not avoiding the bad. We focus on sub-genres of rock, electronic music and hip hop, but don't be surprised to see the occasional wildcard too.
