Hooray for previews ahead of the release! We've still got about two months until The Flaming Lips' latest effort, Embryonic, comes out, yet we are now hearing our third song from the collection. "See the Leaves." This one, unlike our first two previews, can leave listeners staggering. Noisy, disjointed and hectic, the track is different, to say the least. It literally mauls you with solos and percussion beats, the likes of which have rarely been seen from the band, so my suggestion is tread lightly. Still, an awesome track that has me more excited by the day for Embryonic. Speaking of, it's out October 13th via Warner Bros. Go check out "See the Leaves" at Pitchfork.
Animal Noises is a blog about music, both old and new, and how it stands up in the current music scene. The staff-- John, the editor, with contributions from Matt-- uses their various music backgrounds to intelligently discuss artists and albums, focusing on the good, while not avoiding the bad. We focus on sub-genres of rock, electronic music and hip hop, but don't be surprised to see the occasional wildcard too.
