As the public preps for The Raveonettes' fourth release, the Danish pop team has decided to grace us with a new track. "Suicide" merges darker pop overtones with a 70s psychadelic vibe to take on the issue of killing oneself. Also present is a fun and punchy drum machine sure to distract (in a good way) at various moments. Is the theme to their upcoming album violence? Perhaps. The rest of the track listing includes other songs about drugs, anti-rape messages and burying people, amongst others, so I'd bet on it. For those interested, In and Out of Control will be out October 6th via Vice. In the meantime, check out "Suicide" below, courtesy of Pitchfork. The Raveonettes- "Suicide"
Animal Noises is a blog about music, both old and new, and how it stands up in the current music scene. The staff-- John, the editor, with contributions from Matt-- uses their various music backgrounds to intelligently discuss artists and albums, focusing on the good, while not avoiding the bad. We focus on sub-genres of rock, electronic music and hip hop, but don't be surprised to see the occasional wildcard too.
