Coachella Announces 2010 Line-Up

Just as we did last year, we're happy to report the lineup for 2010's Coachella Festival. It's probably better than last year, depending on your vantage point. Among the most notable acts (according to this blog, not the festival) per day:

So there it is. An epic collection of artists this year, really. I'm excited, as I'm sure you are too. To Indio, California we go.

New Thom Yorke, Grizzly Bear, Bon Iver Tracks for New Twilight Soundtrack

I hate Twilight. Check that. I LOATHE Twilight. So when I heard that some of my favorite artists (i.e.- Thom Yorke and Grizzly Bear) were contributing to the second movie's soundtrack, it irked me to no end. Alas, we're now hearing some of these songs, and they're actually okay... as long as you keep the images of overly-romanticized, overly-hyped vampires out of your heads.

Anyway, if you head over to Stereogum, you can check out three of the tracks on the upcoming (groan) Twilight Saga (Editor's Note: fail)New Moon soundtrack, out October 20th, via Atlantic. Among them are Thom Yorke's techno-riffic "Hearing Damage," Grizzly Bear's airy and hollow melody "Slow Life," featuring Beach House's Victoria Legrand; and the equally haunting "Rosyln," by Bon Iver and St. Vincent.

New Thom Yorke, "The Hollow Earth"

Thom Yorke's back to doing that creepy electronic experimental stuff again. After confirming new single, "Feeling Pulled Apart By Horses" (what?!) a few weeks ago, we now get a glimpse of the track's b-side, "The Hollow Earth." The product's not available in the U.S. until tomorrow, but if you happen to be in the United Kingdom, you're in luck, and get either purchase the vinyl for 10 pounds (how many dollars is that?), or get a digital copy for free. Yup, they're still doing stuff like that. U.S. people, you'll also be able to get a free digital copy tomorrow. Or you can pre-order the vinyl today over at Radiohead's merch site.

The video below is (sadly) not the official visual representation, though it should be. Still, at least you get to hear the track.

New Thom Yorke, "All For the Best"

Lots of tributes and compilations coming out this year-- or at least that's what it seems like. The latest across the newswire? Ciao My Shining Star, is a tribute to the music of former Miracle Legion frontman Mark Mulcahy. Though Mulcahy is still alive, his wife, tragically, is not, and therefore, the album is serving partially as a benefit as well. A lot of big-time are in on it, most notably Dinosaur Jr., The National and Ben Kweller, but today, we're here for the biggest name of them all, Thom Yorke. The Radiohead bossman covers "All For the Best" in the opener, and sets a great mood with his electronic version reminiscent of Hail to the Thief. For those interested in hearing it, for the sake of Yorke or Mulcahy, you can head over to Stereogum. Ciao My Shining Star: The Songs of Mark Mulcahy is out September 29th via Shout! Factory.
