I'm sure by now, you're used to this drill. Every few weeks, Modest Mouse announces another 7" vinyl a week before it comes out, and subsequently previews the a-side. Then, a couple days later, they allow you to preview the b-side to said vinyl. Well, we heard "Perpetual Motion Machine" the other day, so that means that today, we're hearing "History Sticks To Your Feet". It's a more pleasant take on the band's usual I'm-sick-of-doing-this-and-that approach, but still, stays true to the formula. If you're interested, head on over to Pitchfork to get a glimpse. The "Perpetual Motion Machine" single is out July 21st. B-side compilation No One's First and You're Next is out August 4th via Epic Records.
Animal Noises is a blog about music, both old and new, and how it stands up in the current music scene. The staff-- John, the editor, with contributions from Matt-- uses their various music backgrounds to intelligently discuss artists and albums, focusing on the good, while not avoiding the bad. We focus on sub-genres of rock, electronic music and hip hop, but don't be surprised to see the occasional wildcard too.
