Continuing today's new track hit parade, Built to Spill's "Hindsight" made its debut yesterday over at Pitchfork. The song, off of the forthcoming There Is No Enemy, is a somber one, but not in a depressing sort of way. Lead singer Doug Martsch just remains mellow throughout what appears as a mix of indie-folk and 1990s alternative in the background. It's an interesting mix, even with Martsch sounding a lot like Ben Gibbard throughout the track. Anyway, for fans that want to stream the track, head on over to P4K. There Is No Enemy is out October 6th via Warner Bros.
Animal Noises is a blog about music, both old and new, and how it stands up in the current music scene. The staff-- John, the editor, with contributions from Matt-- uses their various music backgrounds to intelligently discuss artists and albums, focusing on the good, while not avoiding the bad. We focus on sub-genres of rock, electronic music and hip hop, but don't be surprised to see the occasional wildcard too.
