Weekly Top 10: Songs About New York
To clarify, I'm not (I repeat, NOT) a Yankees fan. However, to me, there is nothing more obnoxious than a Philadelphia fan, so this list seemed appropriate. To commemorate the greatest city in the world winning its 35th (includes Yankees, Mets, Brooklyn Dodgers and NY Giants) World Series title, I give you our top ten songs about THE city-- New York.
Labels:
Beastie Boys,
Billy Joel,
Bright Eyes,
Cam'Ron,
David Bowie,
Elton John,
Frank Sinatra,
Jay-Z,
John,
Kings of Leon,
Mos Def,

Weekly Top 10: Best Songs Named for Geographic Locations
For this week's list, we decided, for no apparent reason, that it would be fun to pick out songs named for either a city/town, state or country. We tried to avoid the obvious cliche tracks, except one, and unfortunately, two of the songs we originally wanted were not available. So, just so everyone's aware, The Beatles' "Back in the U.S.S.R." and Neutral Milk Hotel's "Holland, 1945" should have been here. Still, I think it's a pretty worthwhile list, as we tried to create variation in locations where possible. Enjoy.
